Highland County Junior Fair Board

Application Deadline:   Friday, November 7, 2008
Who:  Applicants are to be 15 as of January 1, 2009, or a sophomore in high school and an active member of 4-H.

The Junior Fair Board is comprised of members representing several youth organizations... 4-H, Farm Bureau, FCCLA, FFA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Grange.

See how the Highland County Junior Fair operates first-hand. Lots of work involved, but lots of fun, too. The JFB meets all year long preparing for the upcoming fair - the JFB is one busy group! 4-H Members are selected for 1-year terms and must adhere to attendance & participation policies.

Junior Leaders

Application Deadline:  On-going, you're always welcome!
Who:  Enrolled 4-H members ages 13 - 18 as of January 1, 2008

The JL club is an organized program of activities which encourages older youth to develop new knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to leadership & citizenship, while meeting with other 4-H'ers from around the county. Special awards are given to those who complete JL requirements.

Camp Counselor

Application Deadline:  January 2, 2009
Who:  Enrolled 4-H members ages 14 - 18 as of January 1, 2008

Experience camp life as a counselor and you'll work closely with campers, take on a leadership role, develop the camp program and have fun!

Family & Consumer Sciences Board

Application Deadline:  Thank you for applying the deadline is past - check back for the 2009 application.
Who:  4-H Members between the ages of 13 and 18 as of January 1.  Members must be taking a FSC project the current year in order to apply.

FCS Board members plan, decorate, and narrate the FCS awards ceremony and style review in July and at the Highland County Fair.  4-H clubs from around the county can benefit from the board.  Members are trained to attend club meetings and promote projects, perform mock judgings, and give demonstrations.  Each summer, the FSC board takes a fun, educational trip to an interesting place in Ohio.


4-H Scholarships

Application Deadline:  Thank you for applying.  The deadline is past - check back for 2009 Fair Queen Application.
Who: Girls must be between 15 and 19 years of age as of January 1 of current year, not married nor have been married, nor have borne a child.  All past queens are not eligible.
