Pillowcase Community Service Project

Pillowcases will be donated to Highland District Hospital
Emergency Room for kids who need a little extra comfort
while being treated for an injury (stitches, broken limb, etc).

Supplies

· 3/4 yard of fabric for pillowcase

· 1/3 yard of fabric for border of pillowcase

Sewing Instructions

1.   Cut the body of the case 26 1/2” x 40 1/2”

2.   Cut the border 10 1/2” x 40 1/2”

3.   Fold the border in half lengthwise with the wrong sides together, press

4.   Place the right side of the border on the right side of the body of the case.                

           Stitch together using 1/2 “ seam allowance.

5.   Place right sides together stitch down the side and across the bottom.   

6.   Turn to the right side and press.

7.   Return completed pillowcases to OSU Extension, Highland County located at   

       119 Governor Foraker Place, Suite 202, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133

 Material is available at the Extension Office if you would like to help make the pillow cases but do not have extra material.
