OHIO TOBACCO FESTIVAL SCHOLARSHIPS
PURPOSE
The Ohio Tobacco Festival has commissioned that two $500 scholarships be given to high school seniors that will graduate in the current school year. These awards were established to assist young people in their efforts to pursue a college education.
CRITERIA AND SELECTION PROCEDURES
Applicants must reside in Ohio, and it is not necessary that they be directly involved in tobacco production. Applicants must intend on pursuing a college degree from a technical, two-year, or four-year institution in the field of their choice. Criteria used in the selection process are:
School and Community Activities 30%
Agriculture/Livestock-related Background 20%
Future Plans 20%
Need for the Scholarship 30%

A screening committee will sort the applications down to a limited number of finalists. Finalists will be contacted for interviews to be conducted on May 4th at the Brown County Extension Office. The final two winners will be chosen at this time.
The winners will be presented their scholarships at the Ohio Tobacco Festival which is held in August in Ripley. The checks will be made jointly to the student and the school in which they will be attending.
