HIGHLAND COUNTY JUNIOR FAIR MARKET STEER AND MARKET HEIFER TAGGING SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2017
Highland County Junior Fair exhibitors planning to take a Market Steer or Market Heifer to the Highland County Fair in 2018 are reminded that tagging and weigh-in will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Union Stockyards in Hillsboro. This will be the only day Market Steers and Market Heifers can be tagged for the 2018 Highland County Fair. This year we will again be taking hair samples for DNA testing. County Bred and Born exhibitors will need birth date of steers and heifers, and breeder’s name. A Market Heifer class has been added for the 2018 Highland County Fair. These heifers will be pregnancy checked before the fair. You will be allowed to tag in a total of 4 market animals in any combination of Market Steer and Market Heifer, show 2 and sell 1. Tags cost $2.00 per animal. In case of extremely bad weather, please listen to Buckeye Country after 6:00 am the morning of the weigh-in as well as watching the Jr. Fair Board Facebook page.
