Brooke Beam is an OSU Extension Educator in Highland County, Ohio, for Agriculture and Natural Resources/Community Development. Brooke works collaboratively with a team of Extension professionals, volunteers, and community members to provide programming relating to agriculture, natural resources, renewable energy, and leadership development. Brooke develops and implements programming to meet the current and future needs of the Highland County community.
A few of the programs Brooke has developed include the Germinate International Film Fest, Leadership Highland, state-side virtual reality programming implemented at the 2019 Ohio State Fair and the Southern Ohio Farm Show. In addition, Brooke has hosted numerous Beef Quality Assurance trainings in Highland County, as well as fertilizer and pesticide recertifications.
Brooke received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Agriculture and Extension Education. Her research has focused on the representation of the agricultural industry in entertainment and social media analytics. Brooke was selected as an AgGrad 30 Under 30 for 2020.
Brooke grew up in Clinton County, Ohio, where she currently resides and operates her own grain farm. Brooke enjoys spending time on the farm, video production, flying a drone, and traveling. Brooke serves on the board of Energize Clinton County.
